STREETFEST is more than just an event; it is a celebration of transformation, unity, and the power of second chances. The 2024 edition was our most impactful yet.
The day kicked off with a football match between reformed youth from Kibagare and reformed boys from Kayole. This exchange program allows young men from both communities to showcase their talents and share ideas on overcoming addiction and crime.
Beyond the football pitch, the event featured powerful testimonies from young people who have turned their lives around. Their stories of overcoming drug addiction, crime, and hopelessness resonated deeply with attendees.
Life skills workshops covered topics including financial literacy, conflict resolution, and career guidance. Community elders shared words of wisdom, and local leaders expressed their support for the initiative.
The event also served as LaFamilia's anniversary celebration, marking another year of service to the community. Each year, we have witnessed God's grace through provision and growth in numbers.
"STREETFEST shows our youth that there is another way," noted Stephen Nyangoso. "When they see their peers choosing a different path and thriving, it gives them courage to do the same."
The turnout exceeded expectations, with over 500 community members participating. Plans for STREETFEST 2025 are already underway, with even bigger activities and partnerships being finalized.
